Mark and Republicans
I’ve been a registered Republican my whole adult life. I don’t always agree with everything or everyone in the Republican Party, but I believe it is the right party (pun intended) to be a part of. The party that ended slavery, fought for the women’s right to vote, civil rights, and other historical battles on the right side of history. I became more actively involved as I started meeting and interviewing the influential members of the Republican party in NYC. I’ve met Nicole Malliotakis on numerous occasions at events and press conferences. She has done a great job in the NY State Assembly and will do a great job as a congresswoman. I urge those constituents in her congressional district in Bay Ridge and Staten Island to vote for her on election day. Just like the three mayoral candidates that I mentioned in my other post, she would’ve made a much better mayor than De Blasio had she won in 2017.
The other photos here aside from all of the Republican NYC mayor candidates of the past decade, are former State Senator Marty Golden, former city council candidate Liam McCabe, and former Congressman Michael Grimm. I had the pleasure of interviewing Michael Grimm while he was in office. He was facing unfair scrutiny and eventually went to jail for a minor crime which was blown way out of proportion by the media. He was essentially paying employees “off the books” in a restaurant that he was a part owner. This is something that many business owners do. I went to his sentencing hearing and the judge was completely unfair. Despite his attorney mentioning that this crime rarely sees any jail time, him mentioning that he takes care of his sick mother, his lawyer mentioning that Michael Grimm’s business partner was the one handling the business operations, and the fact that he served our country in the military and the FBI, the judge still sentenced him to prison. Michael was there for the residents of Staten Island after hurricane Sandy, fought against insurance companies who wanted to drop flood coverage for Staten Island residents, and was always there doing the right thing for his constituents. But since he was a Republican in NY, he had a target on his back. You can see my interview with him down below.
Interviewing Republicans and being involved in the Republican party is one thing but running for office means that I will have a target on me as well. Despite all the good that I’ve done, they will find a way to make me look bad. But I don’t care. I have to fight for the people in my community so that I don’t see it continue to get destroyed.
The other 2 photos are me attending the presidential inauguration in 2017. It was truly an honor to be there for that moment in history and it was a great speech. Whether or not you support Trump or not, I am not Donald Trump. I am my own person with my own ideas. If my ideas make sense to you then vote for me so I can get the job done. If you don’t like my ideas or me (for some odd reason) then don’t vote for me. But don’t vote against me just because you don’t like Donald Trump.
Thank you everyone and I hope that you will support me so I can do good for the community.
