Mark and Police Brutality

Let me be clear. I support the NYPD and our police department. I don’t support the actions a of the few who take advantage of their power, and/or make poor decisions. The actions of a few do not represent the department as a whole. Being a police officer is the one job that they are hated on for not doing their job, and for doing their job. It’s a no win and no appreciation situation for them every day. Every day they go to work, they are risking their lives to keep you safe. It doesn’t give certain individuals the right to do whatever they want but it also doesn’t give anyone the right to disrespect those that did nothing but protect the community.

I had the privilege of interviewing high profile police brutality lawyer Sanford Rubenstein. He was Al Sharpton’s lawyer as well as the attorney for multiple high-profile police brutality cases. Those cases include Abner Louima, Sean Bell, and he was supposed to represent the family of Eric Garner before a scandal involving him occurred and the family went with a different lawyer. At the time I interviewed him he was still supposed to represent Eric Garner and we talked about that case, the other cases I mentioned, Al Sharpton, things that need to be changed, and more.
